ugly morning

i just really don't feel like going to work this morning. it's been increasing difficult to motivate myself, so i made some carrot, apple, strawberry juice and posting a picture in the hopes that my spirits will be lifted by the time i step off the subway and onto madison avenue.

my motto for the day is "all your base are belong to us"...whatever that means.

hangin out

one of my favorite photos i have ever taken...someone actually has this photo hanging on their wall somewhere. i wish i knew who bought it.

williamsburg

i took this in williamsburg a few month back when it was summer. the way the light came through the slats in this overpass was mesmerizing.

street whore

i've decided to turn this into my photo blog of things i see around the neighborhood...this saucy lass was last seen resting next to a newspaper box.

books

i'm really liking this short story collection by rick moody right now. i've heard he lives in Brooklyn.

snobs

i was reading a really stupid article in nymag.com yesterday about the show NYC Prep on Bravo and have decided that it really annoyed me. it went on and on about how NYC is on a downward trajectory because of all the failed stock market bug wigs. later in the article it also talked about the Real Housewives of NYC and how one couple was afraid of what people might think and say when they decided to move from manhattan to brooklyn.

this made me think about new york and brooklyn and me. it's a really great and exciting time to live in this borough. just take a walk in williamsburg (okay...just ignore the hipsters) and you cannot deny that art abounds. we have amazing communities forming in all of the neighborhoods and there is such a sense of life and vitality growing here.

so i think this article was pretty dumb. the only way you could possibly think that ny is on it's way out is if you spend all of your time on wall street and uptown. as far as being tragically unhip and fearing people's opinions of you because you live in brooklyn...fuggedaboutit. brooklyn is definitely where it's at.
